Ellen hasn’t dated in a while and decided to get back into the dating world, but she wants something long term rather than short term. Patrick fell out of love with this woman named Saskia. Saskia is feeling jaded about the breakup and decided to continuously stalk him. Patrick tells this to Ellen and Ellen is very curious about this woman. In a sick twist of fate, Ellen has already met Saskia and doesn’t know it yet. When Ellen finally meets Saskia, all hell breaks loose.

I love this novel so much I decided to purchase this from the bookstore and proceeded to read it again. I love how there was a little thrill and romance. I can’t say much more than I absolutely love how this book was written. Moriarty deciding to alternate the point of views between Ellen in third person and Saskia in first person made the book better. I wouldn’t want to only read something of this genre of one side. Hearing the other side gave more information that coincides with the plot line. This novel kept me on my toes a lot. Overall, excellent novel from Liane Moriarty.

Ellen, a hypnotist, fell in love with her single life of being a hypnotist and her work is at her grandmother’s house she left behind for Ellen. Not long later Ellen fell in love with a man she meets by the name of Patrick. She truly adores him and his son Jack. But the troubling aspect of Patrick is that he has a stalker. One would instantly think is a red flag. Not to Ellen. After a couple months of them dating, he proposes to her and she reveals she is pregnant. She seems to think its okay but when the stalking becomes an issue that’s when the storm came. Jack gets injured because of Patrick’s stalker. On the other side of the story, the stalker Saskia still loves Patrick and Jack but refuses to give up. She is persistent and overstepped her boundaries by breaking and entering as well as injuring her ex-boyfriend’s child. Patrick acted to ensure that Saskia can’t come near them at all.

I really enjoyed another one of Moriarty’s novels. They are always intriguing and always have me turning to the next page to read more to see more of the plot unveil itself. However, this book’s theme of stalking was humoring and troubling as the protagonist didn’t immediately see the stalking as a red flag warning that one should get the fuck out of the relationship or discus with the partner about solving the stalking issue by simply filling out a restraining order. This should be a lesson to those who have stalkers. Record all the stalker’s movements and act before something life threatening happens. Stalking someone is never acceptable at all. Especially a former lover and such because its creepy and desperate. Move forward, don’t obsess. Anyways I would give this a recommendation to read and if one has already read this novel then reread it. I sure hope to reread this novel soon.

A new and single mother, Jane moves into this town hoping to find herself a permanent home for her and her son. Jane meets two other mothers, Madeline and Celeste. An incident happened at the kindergarten orientation and Renata, one of the big shot mothers, is blaming Jane’s son, Ziggy for hurting her Amabella. Ziggy never did harm Amabella but it’s a showdown between Jane and Renata. This scandal is only the beginning when a trivia night ends with a murder. A mix of alcohol and scandalous gossip tend to reveal truths and nothing good happens in the end. A murder resulting from too much alcohol, domestic violence, and a case of post traumatic stress disorder.

I loved this novel and the author is perfect. The plot line was perfectly written, and intricate truths revealed here and there made the novel juicer. I simply couldn’t stop reading. The only issue I had was with the parents who decided to be self-righteous, prudent, and gossip spreaders. It did add some drama, but I didn’t like that element. I loved the fact Jane decided to become a single mother rather than give up. The strength and the extent she went for her child was beautiful and how she was accepted for it was incredible. This novel sent many messages that a lot of parents should take note such as listen to all the children when it comes to bullying and deal with it appropriately. Don’t single out anyone because that is bullying.
